tips will be a much cheaper method. Try tips until you get your desired boost level. Remember it can change +/- given amb. temp and elevation. An MBC would only be useful if you wanted to change your boost level often. Even if you wanted 2 boost levels, you could have 2 sets of quick disconnects with different tips/jets in them. This way you wont have to guess 'n check with a MBC when you want adjustments. All else being equal, tips/jets and MBC's are both prone to spikes and won't hold boost levels with temp changes. What they lack for controling spikes is a 'gain' setting. This is where an EBC comes in. You 'set' your desired level, just like with an MBC, but the 'gain' will control how aggressive the boost rises. With this you can tune in your spike, to say 1 psi spikes each time, which is safe and optimal to get a fast spool.
